The post Sheryl Crow and Chris Stapleton perform “Tell Me When It’s Over” on Fallon: Watch appeared first on Consequence of Sound.
Sheryl Crow may have just released her guest-heavy final album, Threads, but that doesn’t mean she’s slowing down quite yet. Earlier this month, the country music icon appeared on Fallon with Jason Isbell to sing their cover of Bob Dylan’s “Everything Is Broken”. On Friday, she returned to The Tonight Show stage for an encore performance, this time alongside Chris Stapleton to perform their Threads collaboration “Tell Me When It’s Over”.
As Crow sat at her keyboard, Stapleton plucked and strummed his guitar to her side. The country rocker is known for his big, scratchy voice, and that proved quite the live foil for Crow’s crisper vocals as they traded off the bluesy chorus of, “Tell me when it’s over/ ‘Cause I don’t wanna be the last to know.” Watch the replay below.
Threads sees Crow teaming up with a number of other big-name friends and heroes, including Stevie Nicks, Keith Richards, Joe Walsh, and Don Henley. The Grammy-winning Americana singer-songwriter is currently supporting the record on the road, with a trip to Puerto Alvaro Obregon, Mexico for Brandi Carlile’s Girls Just Wanna Weekend scheduled in January. For his part, Stapleton has found himself involved in several notable collaborations as of late. He appeared on Ed Sheeran’s No. 6 Collaborations Project, sang a Randy Newman-penned song on the Toy Story 4 soundtrack, and performed alongside Carlile at the Chris Cornell tribute concert in Los Angeles. He also has a number of gigs on his docket, and you can get tickets here.
