Sheriff: Missing Florida teen could be with boys' high school soccer coach

A 17-year-old female reported as missing from Columbia County, Florida may be in the company of a local boys’ soccer coach, according to the county sheriff’s office.

Caitlyn Frisina, a youth soccer player, has been reported missing from her home. According to law enforcement, she left of her own accord, erased and left behind her cellphone, and withdrew $200 from an ATM in St. Mary’s, Georgia, roughly 90 miles from Columbia County.

Police believe she may be traveling with Rian Rodriguez, 27, who is the boys’ soccer coach at Fort White High School, and that the two may be traveling in a red Mercury Sable. Caitlyn’s parents have indicated that Rodriguez had coached Caitlyn in the past, and local news reports described him as “a longtime family friend.”

Caitlyn’s mother Scarlet told News4Jax that she wanted to make contact with her daughter. “We want you to let us know that you’re OK. We want you to let someone know that you’re OK,” Scarlet Frisina said. “We want to hear your voice, baby girl. And we want you to come back home.”
