Sheetz offers discounted gas through Fourth of July travel season. Here’s what to know

A major gas station chain in North Carolina is reducing ”pain at the pump” for customers through the July 4 weekend.

Sheetz, which has more than 640 locations in the U.S., will cut prices for unleaded and E85 fuel to help consumers during the holiday, it announced on June 27.

Unleaded 88 fuel will cost $3.99 a gallon and E85, which is approved by the EPA for use in vehicles for model years 2001 or newer as well as light-duty trucks, SUVs and Flex Fuel Vehicles, will cost $3.49 a gallon, according to the release.

Sheetz recommended drivers check their manual before filling up with E85 to ensure it is compatible with their vehicle.

The prices are effective immediately, the company said.

The average price of gas in North Carolina is $4.53 a gallon, according to the AAA.

“Sheetz, a major Mid-Atlantic restaurant and convenience chain, will help reduce pain at the pump for consumers by reducing the price of fuel,” Sheetz said in the release. “This is a limited time offer that will be available through the July 4th holiday travel season.”
