Shazam! 2's unveils Fury of the Gods as its ominous-sounding subtitle
Shazam's eagerly anticipated sequel has finally revealed its official title – and it's safe to say, it seems to indicate big trouble for Billy Batson.
For the follow-up's panel at DC FanDome yesterday (Saturday, August 22), actors Asher Angel, Faithe Herman, Jack Dylan Grazer, Meagan Goode and Zachary Levi reunited virtually to tease what's to come from the second instalment. Adam Brody and director David F Sandberg pitched up, too.
Levi, who plays the titular superhero, began the "Shazoom" by explaining to those tuning in that they were limited as to what they could reveal. Something they could unveil though is that the film will be subtitled Shazam: Fury of the Gods.

Later, stand-up comedian Sinbad jumped into the video call, as a faux-surprised Levi exclaimed: "Sinbad? Are you in Shazam 2?"
"You tell me, John Krazinski, am I? Because everybody thought I was in Shazam 1 before it even existed – Google it," he joked, referring to internet theories that he appeared in a movie of the same name back in the 1990s. (In actuality, Shaquille O'Neal played a genie in the 1996 film Kazaam).
"People think I was in that one too, Shazam, Kazaam, all the Kazaams, I'm relegated to the false memories of the Tide generation man," Sinbad laughed. "I'm going to work right now to rectify the situation once and for all with a big, prominent role in Shazam 2. Thank you very much."

While it's unclear whether his inclusion in the panel was just all a bit of a fun, or a legitimate way to tease his involvement in the sequel, he went on to say: "I can play anything. I can play a good guy, bad guy, I can play Shazam's trainer.
"Great news, David – I've already started working out for the movie. Check this out, man. I'm gonna look so good. I'll even do nude scenes, a little booty, not a lot."
Released in 2019, Shazam! was a surprise hit with critics, who praised the film for its "old-fashioned" style and more lighthearted tone. It proved a success financially too, earning $364.6 million (£272,390,837) at the global box office – so it's no wonder a second film is on the way.
