Shayna Wayne Interferes, Christian Cage Beats Adam Copeland On AEW Dynamite

Thanks to Shayna Wayne, Christian Cage scored a major win on the December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite.

Christian Cage and Adam Copeland headlined Wednesday’s show, as Cage put the TNT Championship on the line against Copeland in Montreal. They battled it out in a hard-fought match, and Copeland was on the verge of victory on multiple occasions. However, in the closing moments, Shayna Wayne, Nick Wayne’s mother, made her way to the ring. She picked up the TNT Championship and hit Copeland with it after Cage had knocked down the referee.

Cage capitalized by pinning Copeland with a Killswitch and a sickening stomp on his neck. Medical officials checked on Copeland after the bell. With the win, Cage scored his second televised win ever against Copeland.

Copeland and Cage previously teamed up together as Edge and Christian in WWE. They had not faced each other since 2010, as both men were forced to retire earlier in their careers. Copeland signed with AEW and made his debut at AEW WrestleDream. He and Cage had been on a collision course ever since.
