Shawn Spears has returned to NXT.
Ridge Holland came to the ring on the February 27 episode of WWE NXT and apologized for his actions after he viciously attacked Gallus with a chair. The lights went out, and a cryptic message said “Truth will ultimately prevail, but there is pain bringing it to light.”
Holland was then attacked by a hooded individual who had a chair. The newcomer revealed himself to be Shawn Spears, formerly known as Tye Dillinger.

Spears previously spent a few years in WWE and returned for a second stint in 2013. He was featured on NXT, and he moved up to SmackDown in 2017. In February 2019, Spears announced that he had requested his release, and it was granted. He then joined AEW at AEW Double or Nothing 2019. He had been with the company until he announced his departure at the end of 2023.
Update: Spears commented on his return later in the show on Tuesday. He stated that Holland was lying to himself. Spears said the truth can bring you to your knees, and that’s why he’s back in NXT.
