Sharon Osbourne says she's 'doing great' since returning home from hospital

Sharon Osbourne is on the mend following an injury that led to her hospitalization on Friday.

Osbourne, 70, shared an update on Monday night via Instagram. "Back home and doing great!" she captioned her post, along with a photo of her Christmas tree and dog.

"Thank you for all the (love)," the television host added.

Osbourne suffered an injury when she was at an inn near Ventura, California.

The Ventura County Fire Department confirmed to USA TODAY that it responded to an emergency at the Glen Tavern Inn at 6:30 p.m. local time in Santa Paula, California, and took a patient less than a mile away to the Santa Paula Hospital on Friday.

Glen Tavern Inn owners Rosanna Jennett and Aishah Sing confirmed to USA TODAY Sunday that Osbourne's son, Jack Osbourne, was filming his show "Jack Osbourne's Night of Terror" and she was his guest.

Santa Paula Police Chief Don Aguilar confirmed Osbourne as the patient to The Hollywood Reporter and Fox News. The injuries leading to her hospitalization are still unclear.

On Saturday, Jack Osbourne shared on his Instagram story that his mother was discharged. "She has been given the all clear from her medical team and is now home," he wrote. "Thank you to everyone who reached out with love and support."

"As to what happened to mum – I'm gonna leave it to her to share about when she is ready," Jack added.

USA TODAY reached out to Santa Paula police and representatives for Osbourne for more information.

In the past, Osbourne has been open about medical emergencies after she was hospitalized while battling COVID-19. In December 2020 she shared the news with her Instagram followers, revealing that she underwent a short hospitalization and was isolating from her husband, rock icon Ozzy Osbourne.

"I wanted to share that I've tested positive for Covid 19," she wrote in the caption. "After a brief hospitalization, I'm now recuperating at a location away from Ozzy (who has tested negative) while 'The Talk' is on scheduled hiatus. Everyone please stay safe and healthy."

Osbourne left her seat on the "The Talk" in 2021 after having a controversial on-air exchange with co-host Sheryl Underwood about racism that led the show into hiatus in order to investigate.

CBS later announced that it "did not find any evidence that CBS executives orchestrated the discussion or blindsided any of the hosts."

In September, Osbourne opened up about the instance in a four-part docuseries on Fox Nation.

"I wanted to look into the camera and say ‘(expletive) you, (expletive) you, (expletive) you, (expletive) you, and CBS take that and walk off," Osbourne said, while waving her middle finger. "But I couldn’t do that."
