There’s only love in the Prince of Darkness’ marriage.

Sharon Osbourne opened up in an interview with E! News about her marriage with Ozzy Osbourne and explained why it’s lasted since they were married in 1982.

"We're both oddballs," the TV personality, 70, told the outlet of her special connection with the heavy metal icon, 74. "I might look quite normal, you know, the way I dress, but normal is not a word I use often.

“We’re two oddballs and were two wild young people that found each other," Osbourne continued, referring to when they met in 1971 while she was working at the office of her record label executive father, Don Arden.

Sharon then helped the rocker get back on his feet while he dealt with substance abuse issues after he was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979, encouraging him to start his own solo project, which she managed. “We’re cut from the same mold,” Osbourne told E! News.

Beyond being “oddballs,” the former star of The Osbournes revealed what she’s learned throughout four decades of marriage. She stressed how important it is “to realize you have to accept people for what they are.”

“They'll never be what you want them to be," Osbourne continued. "You have to accept them. There are good and there are bad parts. If you love them enough, you'll accept it and realize that you can't change it."

The music industry legend also admitted her marriage hasn’t always been perfect. (The couple mutually split for a period in 2016 when Osbourne learned her husband had been unfaithful.)

“It’s not been easy, no relationship is easy,” the reality star added. “You have to work at it. You get your ugly times, your bad times and your horrific times. But if you love each other enough, you'll work through."

The pair recently spoke to PEOPLE about their love for each other and how they celebrated their 40th anniversary this past July.

"We never left our suite at the Beverly Hills Hotel,” Sharon said. "It was brilliant."

Ozzy recalled, “When we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, I said to Sharon, 'Where did the years go?' It's just ridiculous. I mean, 40 years is amazing. It shouldn't have lasted this long."

The metal star also called his wife “the best” for staying by his side through his recent health struggles, including a recent diagnosis with Parkinson’s disease.

“I believe you only have one real love in your life. I'm still in love with my wife. That's the main thing,” he shared with PEOPLE.
