The post Sharon Osbourne: Ozzy has had “three major operations” since fall at home appeared first on Consequence of Sound.
It’s no secret that Ozzy Osbourne has had a rough year, but new details from his wife/manager, Sharon Osbourne, offer more insight into just how much pain and suffering the metal legend has gone through in 2019.
While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday night, Sharon offered more details about the fall that forced the Prince of Darkness to postpone his 2019 tour dates.
While it was know that Ozzy fell in the middle of the night after getting up to go to the bathroom, Sharon further divulged, “He gets up in the night, goes to the bathroom, comes back, falls on the rug and bashed his head on the side table.”
She added, “Then he went this way [motioning with her hands] and bashed his head on the post of our bed, and down he went. He didn’t put his hands down and he went face down and his neck went back. And he had to have spinal surgery.”
Continuing the story, Sharon explained, “He’d had a motorbike accident a few years ago and he had metal rods in his body. And the fall pushed the rods through his bones. So he had to have three major operations.”
Sharon then referenced an iconic Black Sabbath song when she told Kimmel, “Ozzy, the other day, put together an X-ray of his upper chest and his neck, and no wonder they call him ‘Iron Man’, ’cause I tell you, he’s got bolts — he’s got so much metal in his body, it’s frightening.”
Ozzy himself detailed some of his struggles in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, saying that the fall left him “absolutely in agony” and that the “progress is very slow.”
Elsewhere in the Kimmel interview, Sharon spoke about Ozzy’s recent collaboration with Post Malone, as well her own latest facelift. Watch below:
