Sharon Osbourne clarifies report on her son's job: reserve cop, not border patrol

The Osbournes are setting the record straight after a Radar Online report claimed that her son, Jack, is working as a U.S. border patrol officer. Sharon Osbourne discussed the rumor on Tuesday’s episode of The Talk, clarifying that her son is working near the border, not at the border.

“He is a reserve policeman, and he goes where he’s needed,” she explained. “He is near the border, but he’s not actually working on the border, no. But he is a reserve cop, and he goes wherever he’s needed.”

Radar cited a source claiming that the 33-year-old was “guarding” our borders: “He’s been a U.S. border patrol officer for a while and really enjoys it. And he’s very skilled at it!” The source added he went through “major training, including with assault weapons, and he’s dedicated a lot of his time to it.”

Jack called the story “Fake News” on Facebook, posting “I DO NOT WORK FOR BORDER PATROL,” and adding, “I’m a reserve law enforcement officer close to the border.”

The television personality’s foray into law enforcement was documented on the 2007 reality show Armed & Famous, which followed celebrities undergoing real-life reserve police training in Indiana. Although the show was canceled before the season concluded, Jack finished the program.

“I am also an avid shooter. I have been collecting and building guns my whole life, and I would say it’s my favorite hobby,” he wrote on his blog in 2015. “I am a big supporter of the military and our troops. I’m also a reserve police officer in the state of Indiana. I have a great respect for law enforcement, and do what I can to help.”

For now, Jack is focused on his new Travel Channel series Portals to Hell, which premieres in April.
