One Man Killed in Canada Boat Crash

Venture capitalist and "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary was allegedly involved in a fatal boat crash over the weekend in Ontario, Canada. The incident took place on Lake Joseph on Saturday night.

One man, 64, was killed and a woman was seriously injured. Four others were sent to the hospital after the crash, which involved a big boat and a smaller one.

One Boat Owned By O'Leary

According to TMZ, the smaller boat is owned by O'Leary. In an update posted on TMZ's site, O'Leary says he was a passenger on the boat.

'Shark Tank' Star Cooperating

O'Leary also says he's cooperating with authorities.

"Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident. I am fully cooperating with authorities."

"Out of respect for the families who have lost loved ones and to fully support the ongoing investigation, I feel it is inappropriate to make further comments at this time. My thoughts are with all the families affected."

UPDATE

Ontario Police confirmed in a statement that two people died in the accident -- one on the scene and another later in the hospital.

“We can confirm that a collision occurred on Saturday evening at approximately 11:30 p.m. involving two boats on Lake Joseph. No charges have been made in this matter. The investigation is ongoing with our criminal investigations branch. It resulted in two fatalities. One died at the scene and the other died yesterday after succumbing on Tuesday night to her injuries, which were critical.”
