Seahawks linebacker Shaquem Griffin throws first pitch to brother at Mariners game

Former Central Florida linebacker Shaquem Griffin looks right at home in the NFL since being drafted by the Seahawks in April, and the city of Seattle seems to be embracing him, too.

Shaquem took the mound at Safeco Field on Friday night ahead of the Mariners’ game against the Kansas City Royals to throw out the first pitch.

But instead of Mariners catcher Mike Zunino on the other end of the ceremonial pitch, Shaquem brought out his twin brother and fellow Seahawks teammate Shaquill to head behind the plate.

And to make it even better, Shaquill wore a chest camera behind home plate to document the whole thing.

Shaquill was drafted by the Seahawks in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft, and recorded 50 tackles last season in 15 games.

Shaquem, who only has one hand due to complications from amniotic band syndrome, became the first one-handed player to be drafted in the NFL in April when he was picked up by the Seahawks in the fifth round. Shaquem recorded 74 tackles last season for the Knights in their run to an undefeated season.

The Griffin brothers must have sparked the Mariners on Friday night, too, as they cruised to a 4-1 win over the Royals.
