Shaq on Kevin Durant’s mindset entering Game 3 vs. Celtics

Kevin Durant hasn’t been himself in the first two games of the Nets’ series against the Boston Celtics, and while he’s been averaging a respectable 25 points per game for the series, the Celtics’ lockdown defense has Durant shooting just 30.5 percent from the floor.

During an appearance on ESPN, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal said that despite his struggles, Durant will still have the mentality that Boston won’t be able to shut him down moving forward.

“When you’re a prolific scorer like Kevin Durant, the defense [will]  never shut you down. They can throw a lot of things at you. That’s the mentality we have. So he’s saying ‘hey, I had a bad game. And guess what? I’m about to go to my crib, sleep in my bed. My momma going to come over and cook some of her fried chicken and macaroni, my fans are going to be behind me, and it’s going to be cracking.”
