Shannen Doherty wants to be upfront about the eventful moments in her life — a life that has largely been lived in the spotlight.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 actress and cancer advocate is launching the podcast Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty on Dec. 6 as a way to “be clear about everything” in her life, Doherty exclusively tells PEOPLE.

The iHeartRadio podcast will cover a wide range of topics, from her decades-long career in Hollywood to her ongoing journey with breast cancer.

“I wanted to be clear about what it was like for me to work with Michael Landon on Little House [on the Prairie], what it was like to work with Wilford Brimley on Our House, to talk about the 90210 days. What was it like to be on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine when you're in your early twenties? Charmed to Heathers and Mallrats,” she explains.

Doherty, who announced her split from her third husband Kurt Iswarienko in April, also plans on discussing the lessons she's learned from her relationships.

“What are the relationships in my life that have really altered and changed me, from my very first serious boyfriend to my multitude of marriages and engagements, to divorces?" she continues.

But the actress also wants to be clear that the podcast will not be a “tell-all,” but rather a “memoir of the past, the present and future.”

“’Tell-all’ sort of sounds weird to me, because I always think of a tell-all is your only intention is basically to blame everybody else and to tell on them,” says Doherty, adding, “I take full responsibility for my own actions, and I hold myself very accountable, and I do it on the podcast as well. I admit to the mistakes that I have made.”

It's her hope that Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty will be an educational resource for cancer patients, their spouses and their family members, which is why she plans on having doctors on the podcast.

“We really explore all the different phases and stages of cancer, what it's like to lose your hair [a] multitude of times, how to stay authentic to yourself while also staying really authentic to the cancer movement,” she says.

The actress also plans on interviewing guests that include recognizable names, best friends and loved ones.

“My mom — listen, if I could interview my dog, I would — but she’ll probably be there with me at some points,” she muses. “It’s just an eclectic group of people who have meant a lot to me in my life, mixed with doctors … I admire.”

Doherty, who continues to stay busy by raising breast cancer awareness through TV appearances, events and social media, as well as joining her Beverly Hills, 90210 and Charmed castmates at conventions, plans on recording several podcast episodes a day.

“When I'm working and when I'm creative, there's no room for depression at all. It fuels me,” she explains. “Working makes me so happy. Even my podcast producers were like, ‘Really? You're going to do three episodes in one day? It's a lot.’ And I was like, ‘I could do five in a day.’ I just go … It's also invigorating. I love it. So that helps me for sure.”
