Shannen Doherty's Ex-Husband Has a Very Different Version of Events With His Alleged Affair

Last week, Shannen Doherty revealed her side of the story as to why her marriage to husband Kurt Iswarienko ended so abruptly. She claimed he had a two-year affair while she was battling breast cancer, and she found out the excruciating details just days before she was headed into brain surgery after the cancer had spread.

Pals close to Iswarienko are telling TMZ a much different story, alleging that the former duo had been “living separate lives for two years before her January 2023 surgery.” Their separation was significant enough that Doherty’s ex was living in Texas while she was in California. His friends also claim Iswarienko was “upfront” about his relationship with another woman. (It feels like a very Ross Geller moment: “We were on a break!”)

He reportedly told Doherty about the other woman after the New Year in 2023 which was just before his estranged wife took a spill and required an MRI. That’s when her brain tumor was discovered, and the surgery happened even though she refused to see him when he arrived to assist her recovery. Phew! Those are two very different versions of events, but the former Beverly Hills 90210 star is already hitting back against Iwarienko’s claims.

Calling it an “absolute lie” on her Instagram account, Doherty wrote, “Let’s Be Clear, the truth matters. I just received a disturbing phone call that @tmz_tv was going to run a story about me. The story supposedly comes from my husbands friends (soon to be ex) that he told me two years ago he was cheating on me and we have had an open marriage.” She promised to “address the marriage and affair further” on her next episode of her Let’s Be Clear podcast while also accusing TMZ of speaking to Iwarienko’s alleged girlfriend, Collier Grimm, about the story.

It’s a very messy split after 11 years of marriage and the former couple is not seeing eye-to-eye on how their marriage ended. With Doherty’s cancer battle being her highest priority, it sounds like she can’t wait to put this divorce and his alleged affair behind her.
