Shannen Doherty is giving some insight into her life via a rare selfie on social media.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 52, shared that “Today has been a hard day" in a candid Instagram post on Sunday.

“Obvious reasons and not so obvious reasons. But everyday I pick myself up and hope that I do better. That people do better. That what’s obvious is not so convoluted," she continued.

The actress went on to say in her message that she had received threats, which were likely in response to her support for Israel in recent posts online amid the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

“While I send myself love and peace, I also send love to every single one of you. Even those that have threatened me in the last week,” Doherty continued. “May God be in your hearts.”

In the selfie shared, the actress slightly smiled at the camera as she sat indoors.

Doherty has been open about battle stage 4 breast cancer

Her close friend Sarah Michelle Gellar showed her support for Doherty in the comments. "Even when you are allowed to be selfish and no one would fault you, you still spend your days worrying about others," she wrote.

Doherty was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in February 2020. In June, she shared that a CT scan performed on Jan. 5 showed that her cancer had spread to the brain.

The star continued to be open about her health journey this year as she also shared a video on Instagram from Jan. 16, prior to having surgery to remove a tumor in her head.

“January 16, 2023. Surgery. I had a tumor in my head they wanted to remove and also biopsy. I am clearly trying to be brave but I am petrified,” Doherty candidly wrote in the caption of her Instagram video from before the procedure. “The fear was overwhelming to me.”

The 90210 alum added that she was “scared of all possible bad outcomes" including leaving her mom behind and that she was "worried that I would come out of surgery not me anymore."

Last month, Doherty received a standing ovation from her Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates as they reunited at 90s Con. The actress teared up as the crowd also got on their feet to clap for the star.

"Thank you so much," Doherty said to the crowd. "You guys know how much I love crying constantly. And I do, it seems. So, thank you."

"I have a fight for my life that I deal with every day," Doherty added. "I think I am really great."
