Shannen Doherty Has 'Demonstrated a Tremendous Amount of Bravery' in Cancer Battle, Says 90210 Costar Ian Ziering

Ian Ziering has seen Shannen Doherty face down many challenges, both on screen and off, but now his Beverly Hills, 90210 is in the fight of her life.

Reacting to Doherty's recent decision to shave her head amid her battle against the cancer she exclusively revealed to PEOPLE last August, Ziering said, "Shannen is one tough cookie."

Ziering, 52, told Entertainment Tonight that his former costar, 45, has "demonstrated her tremendous amount of bravery" in the midst of these life-threatening circumstances.

Looking back on Doherty's famously embattled days playing Brenda Walsh on the hit teen drama, Ziering said. "if she could handle the press outlets that were roasting her back then, then I'm sure cancer – she can stand up to that, if anybody can."



And though they haven't worked together for more than 20 years, Ziering says he has let his support be known: "I gave her a call last week and just let her know that I was thinking about her," he told ET.
