Shannen Doherty is only 52 years old, but she’s at a point in her cancer battle where she has to come to grips with her health and the future. The Beverly Hills 90210 star has been open about her ongoing issues with breast cancer, but this might be the most candid she’s ever been — she’s thinking about her funeral.

On her latest podcast episode on Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty, the actress spoke about her wishes with pal and executor of her will, Chris Cortazzo. Calling it a “morbid,” but “fun” discussion, Doherty will likely help many of her fans embrace a better understanding of mortality and the legacy they leave behind. Knowing her own of history of being “horrible at funerals,” she explained how she expresses her emotions at the somber events. “I don’t know if anybody is actually good at funerals, but I am the girl who like, literally sobs.” Doherty said. “I can’t handle it.”

That’s why she wants her funeral to have a more upbeat vibe, which includes a very tight guest list. “There’s a lot of people that I think would show up that I don’t want there,” Doherty divulged. “I don’t want them there because their reasons for showing up aren’t necessarily the best reasons, like, they don’t really like me and, you know, they have their reasons and good for them, but they don’t actually really like me enough to show up to my funeral.”

The Heathers star doesn’t spill the tea on who her frenemies are, but we will guess that ex-husband Kurt Iswarienko is at the top of that list. He reportedly had an affair with his talent agent after her cancer returned in 2020. Another possible name on the persona non grata list might be Alyssa Milano, who notoriously feuded with Doherty during their Charmed years.

Doherty wants her funeral to be “a love fest” and the last thing she wants is “people to be crying or people to privately be like, ‘Thank God that b***h is dead now.'” She admitted that her list of invited people will be “shorter” than the uninvited guests. “I can’t give you a list of who I don’t want because that’s way too long,” she joked.

Despite her reported enemies, Doherty has plenty of loyal BFFs who have stood by her side through her illness. Besides Cortazzo, Charmed costar Holly Marie Combs, 90201 pal Brian Austin Green, and actress Sarah Michelle Gellar have a friendship with the ’90s icon that spans decades. Doherty knows who her friends are because they’ve stood beside her every step of the way.
