Shania Twain has once more grabbed attention, unveiling a striking new hairstyle ahead of her stint as a mentor on "American Idol." 

Sharing her transformation on social media, the "You're Still the One" singer's bold new look subsequently left followers and fans surprised and intrigued.

Twain took to Instagram on Sunday to post a slew of images of her donning a slightly baggy zip-up top adorned with pearl embellishments adorning two openings above her chest.

She paired the sleek top with matching form-fitting black pants, black-and-white designed heels, and what appeared to be diamond drop earrings.

Even though the 58-year-old's outfit spoke volumes, the show's star was the new platinum blonde tresses she unveiled to her 2.4 million followers. 

The hair was cut to her shoulders and had a middle part that framed her face perfectly. Twain ensured that fans got multiple views at the new 'do by swinging it effortlessly in the eight slides of photos she posted.

Social Media Users Have Mixed Feelings About Twain's Look

Apart from earning over 21k likes, the carousel saw fans swiftly flooding the comments with surprise at the performer's unexpected transformation.

"Unrecognizable!!" one Instagram user exclaimed, as another claimed, "I didn't recognize you with blond hair."

Similarly, a third person typed, "Please, come back the brunette style! That fake blonde type is not natural at all for the most beautiful singer in the world," while a fourth asserted, "Do not like the blonde look; it doesn't suit you, and you are too thin."

"I miss your brown hair; I always loved it! Natural Beauty wins!" a fifth social media citizen declared. Yet another person added, "My wonderful idol, but I agree with some comments. You should go back to your origins, be more of yourself by simply singing and being happy without mentoring, etc."

However, it was not all negative comments as a few fans chipped in their compliments with this person gushing, "Gorgeous!!! The Queen is mentoring, how lucky are those contestants!" and another emphasized, "Absolutely beautiful" alongside a red heart and a fire emoji.

The last time Twain took a break from her signature darker tones was when she posed for the Haunting Living earlier this month. The "Any Man of Mine" hitmaker showcased the blonde locks while wearing a black blazer paired with sheer stockings for the shoot. 

She kept the flowing blonde look in a black bodysuit adorned with puffy shoulder pads before switching to pink hair. She wore a matching pink dress featuring a voluminous top for this final appearance.

The Sun observed that the country-pop star has been switching between brunette, blonde, and pink hair since March. She addressed embarking on the experimental process after discovering gray strands in her hair, stating:

The Grammy Award winner's hair tryouts come eight months after she and her duet partner, Daniel Gerard Breland, announced his eagerly awaited appearance on her tour's Ireland and UK legs.

The Blast noted that their announcement clip started with the duo swinging an open entrance door, but its loud slam against the wall caught their attention. 

"Oh Gosh," Breland chuckled, as Twain remarked, "That was a little too hard." The country rapper quipped, "That was a real kick."

On the second attempt, the musical partners did the opposite, applying minimal force to open the door, which elicited more laughter. "That was the lamest kick," Breland remarked. 

As he moved to close the door again, he assured Twain that they would find their middle ground, admitting, "I was scared to kick it this time." Just like he promised, they nailed it on the third try.

Later, in November 2023, The Blast reported that the Billboard Music Awards recipient had to address the tour bus crash that hospitalized several of her crew members. 

"Thank you so much for the outpour of love and support from everyone. First and foremost my touring family are safe. Anyone needing medical care is receiving great support," she began her statement.

She further expressed, "The local community and every single crew person has been phenomenal, in the face of a very scary scenario. Hug and hold those you love, we are doing the same!"
