Gillis self-financed the six-episode first season of “Tires,” with Netflix acquiring the show as part of a deal that included him getting another stand up special at the streamer. That special is also expected to debut in 2025.

The official description of the series states, “Will (Steven Gerben), the nervous and unqualified heir to an auto repair chain, attempts to turn his father’s business around despite constant torture from his cousin and now employee, Shane (Gillis).”

The cast also includes Chris O’Connor, Kilah Fox, and Stavros Halkias. Andrew Schulz guest stars. Gillis co-created the series along with Gerben and John McKeever. All three serve as executive producers, with McKeever also directing. Brandon James executive produces via Rough House along with Brian Stern and Kenneth Slotnick for AGI Entertainment Media & Management as well as Becky Astphan. Gillis and McKeever executive produce for Dad Sick Productions.

Netflix released their first special with Gillis, “Beautiful Dogs,” in 2023. It proved to be a hit, reaching the top 10 charts in five countries and spending two weeks on the U.S. top 10 list. Gillis also recently performed three shows as part of the Netflix is a Joke Fest in Los Angeles at the Kia Forum, the Greek Theater, and the Staples Center (aka the Crypto.com Arena).
