Shakira, Pharrell Williams and German singer-songwriter Andreas Bourani join the star-studded Global Citizen Festival Hamburg lineup featuring previously announced superstars Coldplay, Ellie Goulding and Herbert Grönemeyer.
Bringing awareness to issues such as education, health, development and the global refugee crisis, the annual music event will bring together activists and music superstars at the the free-ticketed concert is set to take place July 6, on the eve of the G20 Summit, at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany.
"The next generation deserves a better future. Let's make sure our leaders commit the resources necessary to bring millions out of extreme poverty across the globe," Pharrell said in statement.
Shakira, who will perform as a special guest alongside Coldplay, added, "As Global Citizens that we are, I believe we can be the first generation to make sure children everywhere have access to quality education, healthcare, and proper nutrition to break the cycle of poverty in which millions of people are still trapped - I am looking forward to performing with Coldplay on July 6th to help raise awareness about the importance of coming together to work towards this goal."
To coincide with Shakira's addition to the Global Citizen Fest lineup, Coldplay's Chris Martin took to social media to share his excitement over the news, singing along to the Colombian singer's "Me enamoré."
