Holy cow, we're more than halfway through 2023 and Christmas is going to be here before you know it. But there's still plenty of time and plenty to do before it's time to hang lights and make eggnog.

This weekend, those of us lucky enough to be in Northeast Florida have two theater productions to enjoy, a league-leading arena football team to cheer on, a spacy laser show and concerts by Yellowcard and Michael Franti & Spearhead to choose from.

Shakespeare in the park

Apex Theatre Studios is loading up its Bard Bus and heading for Atlantic Beach. The St. Augustine-based theater company returns to the Beaches to put on Shakespeare's romantic comedy "Twelfth Night" at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The show was originally scheduled to be held outdoors at Johansen Park but was moved indoors to the Adele Grage Cultural Center at 716 Ocean Blvd. due to the weather. Free.

'Sister Act'

Theater kids from around Northeast Florida have been working all summer at the FSCJ Artist Series High School Summer Musical Theatre Experience, and now they're ready to show what they've learned. They'll put on "Sister Act," based on the 1992 Whoopi Goldberg/Kathy Najimy film, for six performances over the next two weekends at the Wilson Center at the FSCJ South Campus. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday (they'll repeat the same schedule next weekend). $25-$30.

Shark attack

The Jacksonville Sharks play their final home game of the regular season on Saturday.

It could be a feeding frenzy for the Jacksonville Sharks when they take on the West Texas Warbirds in a National Arena League game at 7 p.m. Saturday at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena. The Sharks are on a seven-game winning streak heading into their final regular-season home game, and the Warbirds have lost six in a row. It's also Military Appreciation night, so all active-duty and military veterans can get two tickets for the price of one. $15-$150.

Rock the Moon III

Think you've seen a show in every venue Jacksonville has to offer? This might be a new one: Jacksonville-based indie band Skyview plays a set of original music inside MOSH’s Bryan-Gooding Planetarium, with lights, lasers and “immersive planetary imagery” shown on the planetarium dome at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Members of the Northeast Florida Astronomical Society will be on hand pre-show. $27-$30.

Michael Franti & Spearhead

One has to wonder where Michael Franti finds time for music. In addition to recording and touring with Spearhead, he’s also a filmmaker, a human rights activist and runs a yoga resort hotel in Bali. Fortunate Youth opens this Big, Big Love Tour show at 6 p.m. Sunday at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. $35.50-$60.50.
