Shahid Kapoor Says Kabir Singh’s ‘Crazy Streaks’ Are In Him

Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor has been starring in back-to-back movies. While he was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, he has several projects lined up in his kitty. The actor has delivered outstanding performances in several blockbuster movies throughout his career. He has experimented with his roles and tried his hands in every genre. Among these, his most controversial and popular roles came in the 2019 romance drama Kabir Singh.

While the movie was as controversial as possible due to its violent romantic theme, it has continued with Shahid Kapoor. Recently, he revealed that Kabir exists within him.

Shahid Kapoor recently attended the Forbes India Leadership Awards, where he talked about his journey. The actor has spent decades in Bollywood and enjoys a massive fan base. After entering the tinsel town, he was known as the chocolaty boy for his romantic comedies. Later, he broke out of this image by signing some serious movies like Kaminey and Haider. Kabir Singh is also among the movies in which the actor played a serious role.

As per Pinkvilla, Shahid revealed that he can relate to the characters he plays in movies. He said, “I wouldn’t say a romantic hero is like me and Kabir is not like me. There is a little crazy inside me somewhere, so Kabir is existing within me, deep down. Those crazy streaks are there within me as an actor, so I chase complex characters.”

Later, the actor revealed how he strives to play different characters in every movie. He said, “The idea is to be part of stories, to play different characters who represent different aspects of human behavior, of society, people who are from different backgrounds, whose brain and heart work differently, who look different and speak different. I will always chase that.”

Kabir Singh was a remake of Vijay Deverakonda’s Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Sandeep Reddy Vanga helmed both movies.
