“Shadow Aliens” Conspiracy Theories Go Viral After Miami Mall Brawl

“Shadow alien” conspiracy theories have run rampant after a brawl at a Miami mall. According to NBC Miami, police responded to reports of a fight breaking out at the Bayside Marketplace on New Year’s Day.

After videos began to surface of the heavy police presence at the mall, police confirmed on Friday (Jan. 5) that they were responding to a fight. The authorities alerted the outlet that they had made several arrests concerning the massive brawl. However, some online spectators have called bull on the cops’ story.

Using viral videos of the arrests, social media users alleged authorities were responding to a “shadow alien invasion.” A conspiracy theory began to gain traction that “8-10ft tall shadow aliens” were running amok at the marketplace.

Online accounts began pointing out hazy “creatures” walking around in the unclear viral videos. “Inter-dimensional Illegal Aliens? This border crisis is off the chain. Cubans and rafts are one thing, SKINWALKERS IN SHADOWS…damn,” one person typed. “I dont know if the rumours about the aliens at the Miami mall are real but I do know I never seen this many police in one place,” another account xweeted.

Other people began to point out that there weren’t any clear pictures or videos of the alien invasion. “Everybody [has] cell phones, but nobody has an up-close video of the 8-10 foot alien by the Miami mall?” somebody posted.

CBS News reported that the City of Miami Police released an official statement regarding the emerging theory. Officer Michael Vega asserted that there wasn’t an alien presence at the Bayside Marketplace. “There were no aliens, UFOs, or ETs. No airports were closed no power outages,” Vega said.

In 2023, Peruvian villagers also claimed that a flock of aliens attacked them. The U.S. Sun reported that Natives alleged a “Predator-style alien” creature “slashed” a 15-year-old girl’s neck. Hunters from the tribe are alleged to have “fired” at the armored-clad creatures. However, they soon discovered that the creatures are “immune to human weapons.”

However, there was much doubt surrounding the sightings. The outlet reports that the “predators” could be, “drones covered with cloth and masks to scare the locals by illegal miners in a Scooby Doo-style scheme.”
