SGB to dazzle in Rapunzel/The Greatest Show recital

May 24—THOMASVILLE- South Georgia Ballet (SGB) is pleased to present "Rapunzel/The Greatest Show" sponsored by Ponder's. The show will begin with the classic story of Rapunzel featuring original ballet choreography. The cast includes company and school dancers and featured performances by graduating seniors Emily Grace Tuten of Brookwood School as Rapunzel and Amelia Cook, also of Brookwood School, as Mother Gothel.

After intermission, the audience will be transported under the Big Top for a toe tapping revue, The Greatest Show! Graduating seniors Brianna June of the Scholar's' Academy will be featured as the Ring Master, Kylie Holt, also of the Scholar's' Academy, will be featured as the Tight Rope Walker, and Alex Kantner of Thomas County High School will perform the role of The Magician.

"We are so excited to be presenting, not one, but two amazing productions for our spring show this year! Rapunzel features a classical ballet, which South Georgia Ballet is known for, while The Greatest Show presents our jazz, contemporary, tap, acrobatics and aerial arts performances. We are so excited to share the immense versatility of our amazing dancers with our community! Our audiences will be delighted and dazzled by our 5 graduates as well as our ensemble of approximately 300 students!" shared Melissa June, artistic director. "This is going to be a show that you will not want to miss!"

Performances will take place at the Cairo High School Auditorium on Friday, May 31, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 1, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
