SF Studios Unveils Trailer for ‘Arnie Alligator’ Film, TV Show (EXCLUSIVE)

SF Studios has unveiled the trailer for its animated film and TV series based on Arnie Alligator, one of the Nordics’ most popular children’s brand luring 300 million views on Youtube.

SF Studios is producing the animated feature and TV series with See You Later! and will release the movie in the Nordics early next year. The film and series are both directed by Finnish helmer Jenny Jokela (“Barbeque”), based on a script by Fabian Nordlander and Marcus Granberg.

Arne Alligator was created in 2003 as a song by the band The Jungle Drum and became a viral hit when the band’s music videos spread on Youtube and Spotify. It ranks as the most streamed children’s music band in the Nordics. SF Studios invested in the IP rights for Arnie Alligator, which is still controlled by See You Later! and jointly owned by creator Granberg and co-owner Anton Molander.

“It’s fantastic that so many fans like our beloved Alligator and his jungle friends and want to
return to our videos on Youtube and it feels fantastic that Arnie Alligator will now be shown on the big screen and become a TV series and get the chance to reach an even bigger audience,” said Granberg.

The feature film and TV series are based on the characters featured in the music videos, concerts, and books. The story follows Arnie and his friends on their adventures in the jungle, around the river and in town.

“Now it’s time to dive deeper into Arnie’s adventure together with his fantastic friends,” said
Molander, adding that the company’s goal “has been to create a film and TV series that our own children and future grand-children want to watch, where the values ​​are good, universal, and timeless.

Filippa Torstensson who is producing the feature and TV series at SF Studios said we “are thrilled to have created a film and TV series of the most popular Nordic children’s brand on Youtube and so much look forward to bringing the wonderful Arnie Alligator to the cinema where we hope to attract many young viewers and their families.”

The film will premiere in theaters on Feb. 9 in Sweden and Finland, and on April 11 in Denmark. The movie will also be released via home entertainment in Norway followed by a release of the TV series in the Nordics.
