Rappers have feuded over a variety of things throughout Hip-Hop history and fashion has been a constant catalyst for tension. Sexyy Red recently addressed claims that she shaded Latto over who popularized the reintroduction of True Religion into this era, and Ice Spice found her way into the conversation, as well.

The “SkeeYee” artist reshared a comment from a fan who credited her with bringing the 2000s brand back into prominence. “All these celebrities wasn’t wearing @truereligion until @sexyyred came out,” the fan wrote. Some people speculated that this was done directly in response to Latto wearing True Religion jeans at 21 Savage’s recent birthday party. The “Big Energy” artist defended herself by posting several photos of her wearing the brand and wrote “They be knowing what they doing lol very weird… If u not from Atlanta this not for u!”

This response caused the St. Louis rising star to head over to X, formerly known as Twitter, on Tuesday (Oct. 24) and say “Definitely not shading her I’m direct wit it whatever I gotta say.” The two-time Grammy nominee further clarified her outfit was part of the theme for Savage’s party, and went back and forth with fans who called her “crazy” and said she thinks everything is about her.

Ice Spice seemingly had her own thoughts on the situation, though she did not say anything directly. One fan chimed in, writing “Truthfully them [bi**hes] ain’t start BACK dressing in the jeans, BB belts, & jackets MAINSTREAM, until Ice Spice did it for the ‘In Ha Mood’ video. It doesn’t matter who was doing it [before] fame, you stopped & started back when you saw the look was coming back last year lmao.”

The 2023 VMAs Best New Artist recipient supported the claim with a repost on X.

While none of these three artists have had any direct beef, people speculate there is tension between Latto and the “Munch” rapper due to supposed subliminal shots in their music. Latto flipped the word “munch” in her verse on Offset’s “Fine As Can Be” and Spice had multiple lines using the word “floor” on the deluxe version of Like..?, which people believe was in reference to Latto’s “Put It On Da Floor.”
