A sexual assault investigation into alleged actions by Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has been dropped by German prosecutors due to a lack of evidence and testimony.

The investigation was launched in June following social media posts by a female fan accusing Lindemann of drugging her at a pre-show VIP party in Lithuania before approaching her to have sex during an intermission in Rammstein’s performance. The posts led to numerous fans calling out Rammstein’s “Row 0” VIP experience as a means for Lindemann to encounter and recruit female fans for sex.

However, German prosecutors have dropped the investigations, which “did not provide any evidence,” stating that the alleged victim’s claims were too vague and went unsubstantiated by law enforcement due to a lack of direct testimony from the said accuser, as reported by The Guardian.

Responded Lindemann’s lawyers on behalf of the singer: “The rapid termination of investigative proceedings by the Berlin state prosecutor’s office shows that there is insufficient evidence that our client allegedly committed sexual offences.”

The victim in question, Shelby Lynn, took to Twitter two days after the aforementioned Lithuania show in May to describe the alleged incident, claiming that her drink was spiked during a pre-show party at Vingis Park in Vilnius. She also detailed a supposed encounter with Till Lindemann in a room below the stage during the intermission of the concert, where she refused to have sex with him, apparently angering the Rammstein frontman.

Responded the band at the time: “With regard to the allegations circulating on the internet about Vilnius, we can rule out the possibility that what is being claimed took place in our environment.”

German prosecutors were quick to launch an investigation after Lynn’s posts went viral, resulting in Universal Music halting promotion of Rammstein’s music. Lindemann’s bandmate, drummer Christoph Schneider, also issued a statement that did not paint the singer in a positive light, stating that Lindemann “has distanced himself from us in recent years and created his own bubble” and that “things seem to have happened that, although legally ok, I personally don’t think are ok.”
