The Sex Pistols's Johnny Rotten reveals heartbreaking reason why he went on 'Masked Singer'

The final four singers from Group A competed in the semifinals on The Masked Singer Wednesday night, which ended with a double elimination.

The Pepper probably wasn't feeling too hot when she thought she had to unmask first, after panelist Ken Jeong prematurely hit the "Take It Off Buzzer," a button that the celebrity panelists should only hit if they are 100% certain they know who the superstar is behind the mask. If the buzzer is hit, the mystery celeb must stop everything they are doing and immediately take it off. That is, as long as the guess is correct. Being that it was Ken, who is notorious for his terrible guesses, the Pepper was initially safe as Ken incorrectly guessed Sara Bareilles. Unfortunately for the Pepper, she was still eliminated later in the night and was revealed to be 2000s pop singer Natasha Bedingfield!

The other masked singer eliminated Wednesday was The Jester, which wasn't too much of a surprise based on his performance. But his reveal was a surprise. The Jester turned out to be the lead singer of legendary punk rock band The Sex Pistols, John Lydon also known as Johnny Rotten.

Following his unmasking, Lydon explained the heartbreaking, but sweet, reason why he went on the show.

Lydon went on the show for his wife, as he shared, "We've been married 45 years. And, no sadness, you know, but there's a certain point now in our lives where she's suffering from Alzheimer's. And it's my job as her main protector, and love of my life, to look after her and she will love this."
