Monday Night Blues

Jazz Concerts with Joe Occhipinti & Friends

1 p.m. the first and fourth Tuesday through July 26. West Florida Public Library, 239 N. Spring St. The West Florida Public Library is sponsoring a series of jazz concerts hosted by Joe Occhipinti, one of Jazz Pensacola’s founding members. Bands on the Beach

7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 28. Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, Pensacola Beach. Pensacola Beach's popular outdoor summer concert series with performers for every musical taste. Featuring a lineup of regional artists, Bands on the Beach delivers an eclectic musical experience throughout the entire summer. This week features Mass Kunfuzion. THURSDAY

Heroes Among Us speaker series

6 p.m. Thursday, June 30. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. The “Heroes Among Us” series, founded in 2013, features individuals from all branches of the military service. The goal is to let these heroes share their experiences with others, both civilians and military veterans as well as active-duty members. The events are organized and sponsored by the Marine Corps League, J. R. Spears Detachment 066. The guest of honor this month is Lt. Col. Larry Perino, U.S. Army. Life's A Dance

6:30 p.m. Thursday, June 30. Saenger Theatre, 118 S. Palafox St. Life’s A Dance 2022 will showcase a star-studded evening of dance featuring world professional championship dancers Shannon and Shane Jensen, Instagram and TikTok social media superstars Miranda and James Derrick, and cast members from ABC’s hit television series Dancing with the Stars including Daniella Karagach, Pasha Pashkov, and Tristan Mac Manus. Performing a variety of dances from the samba to salsa, local celebrity couples will dazzle onlookers in a competition of both fundraising and dance skill. Tunes by the Dunes Concert Series

From tales of her religious upbringing to those of adulthood, Begley will share her life story one laugh at a time. Ronald McDonald Firecracker 5K

7 a.m. Saturday, July 2. Seville Quarter, 130 E. Government St. The 2022 Firecracker 5K will take place in historic downtown Pensacola and benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northwest Florida. The race starts and ends at Seville Quarter and invites both runners and walkers to join the fun. Celebrate the Fourth of July themed race by wearing red, white and blue. Following the 5K is the free Kids Fun Run. Online registration: $35 (June 1 and 30); $40 (July 1 and 2). Packet pickup registration: $40 (July 1). Race day registration: $40 (6 to 6:45 a.m.). Second annual Flora-Bama Freedom Run

8 a.m. Saturday, July 2. Flora-Bama Lounge & Package, 17401 Perdido Key Drive. Flora-Bama's patriotic run will feature two courses: the Four Mile Run/Walk course or the One-Mile Fun Run/Walk. From ribbons and bows to flags, socks and T-shirts, participants are encouraged to break out their best red, white and blue attire to help make this run represent America. Noiseheads

Palafox St. If bands like Foo Fighters, Weezer, and Pearl Jam are considered the last generation of guitar-based rock, then Noiseheads are the next generation’s exception. The band has built a devoted and passionate underground following among fans of old-school garage rock.
