As Seth Meyers so eloquently pointed out on Thursday, “there’s a lot you can say about Donald Trump’s inner circle and the leadership of the modern Republican party.”

And among the things he said about them during his “A Closer Look” segment is that they’re “a collection of gigantic weirdos” and a bunch of “old puds,” who love to “whine about mean tweets they don’t like.”

His prime example was Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, who complained about what Meyers called an “obviously satirical” tweet accusing him of doing something heinous to his neighbor’s dog.

He rolled a clip of Johnson lecturing Twitter and Facebook CEOs Jack Dorsey and Mark Zuckerberg about the offending tweet’s potential to incite voter suppression.

“Let me give you tweet that was put on Twitter,” Johnson says in a clip. “It says, ‘Senator Ron Johnson is my neighbor and strangled our dog, Buttons, right in front of my four-year-old son and three-year-old daughter. Police refuse to investigate.'”

Meyers proceeded to do an impression of Johnson hemming and hawing about another thing he would probably complain about.

“And another thing, Mr. Dorsey,” Meyers quipped. “Last night my doorbell rang late at night so I went to answer it, and when I opened the door there was a flaming bag of poo on my front steps, so I tried to stamp out the fire but I got poo all over my shoes. This is clearly an act of voter suppression by the neighborhood teens because if I have poo-poo on my shoes, I’ll be too embarrassed to go vote.”

Meanwhile, real acts of voter suppression are being reported across the country, like ballot drop boxes being tampered with and even set on fire, or the governor of Texas forbidding counties — even those with millions of residents — from having more than one mail-in-ballot dropbox.
