Seth MacFarlane Says Fox News ‘Makes Me Embarrassed to Work for This Company’

Seth MacFarlane has been working with Fox for nearly 20 years, but he’s made his disdain for one aspect of the company quite clear: Fox News. MacFarlane — whose series “Family Guy,” “American Dad,” “The Cleveland Show,” and “The Orville” were all created for the network — took to Twitter to call out the notoriously conservative-leaning organization, saying it “makes me embarrassed to work for this company.”

His comment came in response to a tweet quoting Fox News’ Tucker Carlson, who advised viewers not to believe the word of his rivals by saying that, “if you’re looking to understand what’s actually happening in this country, always assume the opposite of whatever they’re telling you on the big news stations.” Fox News, consistently the highest-rated network of its kind, has long referred to its rivals as the “mainstream media.”

MacFarlane had clearly heard enough when he saw this: “In other words, don’t think critically, don’t consult multiple news sources, and in general, don’t use your brain. Just blindly obey Fox News. This is fringe shit, and it’s business like this that makes me embarrassed to work for this company,” he tweeted.
