  • Did you know that the most watched series about the life of Jesus Christ is partially filmed right here in the Beehive state? Our own Nicea DeGering had the chance to go on set a few weeks ago in Goshen, Utah to chat with the creator and director of The Chosen, Dallas Jenkins.

    • The show is currently in production of season five and Jenkins says when it comes to the question, why is this show so wildly popular around the world? He says that the comments he gets in public the very most about The Chosen, are about it’s humanity, and it’s authenticity.

      • “I think that so often Jesus projects in the past, including many that I’ve watched myself, the characters feel like stained glass windows. They look like they are quoting scripture as opposed to talking like real human beings. And what happens when that is the case, you lose a little bit of connection and intimacy and maybe you can distance yourself from the people who live in the first century, and distance yourself from Jesus. And we sometimes put these walls up because we have this reverence which can be a good thing but if it’s overdone we lose that humanity, we lose that intimacy, we lose the relationship. And so what we keep hearing for viewers is that the show has revived that relationship and understanding of who Jesus was.”
