Sergio Brown has reportedly surfaced in Tulum, Mexico, as authorities continue to investigate the death of the former NFL player’s mother.

According to footage and photos obtained by TMZ, a shirtless Brown can be seen drinking and dancing at a party south of the border. A witness told the outlet that Brown was at the establishment for several hours, bought alcoholic beverages for multiple people, and appeared to be in “good spirits.”

The former defensive back made headlines in last month after addressing his whereabouts on social media amid reports that he and his mother, Myrtle Brown, were missing. Brown denied reports of his disappearance while claiming that he was kidnapped by the FBI.

“Fake news, fake news,” he said in the bizarre post. “It has to be the FBI that came into my house on Bob Marley’s death day. With the 511 haze and gas — unwarranted. They kidnapped me twice from my home. The Maywood, Ill., Police Department… it had to be the FBI or the Maywood Police.”

On Tuesday (Sept. 16), two days prior to the clip of Brown surfacing, his brother, Nick, took to social media to publicly declare that he was searching for his brother and their mother. “Folks my mom Myrtle Brown and brother Sergio Brown are missing,” he typed. “I’m not waiting another hour. Please share! If you see them or one of them please let me or the Maywood Police Office know!!”

On Wednesday (Sept. 17), Myrtle Brown’s dead body was discovered in the Addison Creek Reservoir — less than 100 yards from her house. Few details have been released regarding Brown’s death and an investigation is currently ongoing.

After being notified of his mother’s death, Nick Brown made a follow-up post mourning his mother while pleading for any information regarding the whereabouts of his brother. “It’s a sad but hopeful time, and we will all get through this together. Mom always told me, ‘tough times don’t last,’ and our last conversation about tough times being temporary is my beacon of hope,” Brown wrote in the post.

“Mom, thank you for being strong, caring, diligent, fancy, funny, and for saving my art. I won’t let you down. My brother Sergio is still missing. If anyone knows where he is I want him to know that I love you and please come home.”
