Senators fire CEO they just hired 8 weeks ago
That was quick.
Less than eight weeks after hiring Jim Little to fill the team’s vacant CEO position, the Ottawa Senators fired him for “conduct inconsistent with the core values of the Ottawa Senators and the National Hockey League.”
The team has yet to release further details or an explanation, but boy oh boy I cannot wait until they do—it’s sure to be a normal one.
Lucky for us, however, Little himself released a statement Wednesday afternoon claiming his side of the story, and it was everything I thought it would be and more.

Little used to work for Shaw Communications as its chief marketing and cultural officer and executive vice-president. Prior to that, Little held executive positions with Bell, RBC and Bombardier. Now he can add “getting fired for saying mean swear words to a 60-year-old billionaire” to his resume.
Upon hiring Little in January, Sens owner and actual CEO Eugene Melnyk said "an extensive search was conducted to find the right leader to guide the organization into the next decade." I guess a decade was a little ambitious but hey, they almost hit the two-month mark.
The circus trudges on.
