Selma Blair and Son Arthur, 12, Snap Sweet Photo at National Monuments in Washington D.C.: 'A Beautiful Time'

The actress shares her son with ex Jason Bleick

Selma Blair is sharing a little bit of history with her son.

The Legally Blonde star, 51, shared a carousel of photos on Instagram Monday featuring pictures from her trip to Washington D.C. with 12-year-old son Arthur. The mother-son duo visited various national monuments around the capital city, including the Lincoln Memorial and the WWII Memorial.

In one sweet photo, Blair and her son posed together at the WWII Memorial in front of the Michigan statue, proudly showing off her home state. The post also included a few photos of Blair in a long, forest-green gown, posing in front of a portrait.

"This gown, this boy. A beautiful time," she captioned her post.

In November, the actress chatted with PEOPLE at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards, sharing an update on what her son thought of her being honored.

"I can't remember. My son probably said, 'Are you getting paid? Can I have money?' " she laughed. "I imagine that's like what he always says."

"Oh, typical boy. Yeah, that's why we celebrate females," she joked. "No, my son is perfectly 12. I'm sure he is proud."

Blair celebrated her son's 12th birthday in July with a heartfelt tribute shared on Instagram. Alongside a collection of photos of the tween, she wrote, "My Saint, Arthur, happy birthday 🎂."

"This has been the most incredible life with you. Forever my favorite, I know you are going to have the best year yet," she continued.

"I am so proud of who you are and have become. Usually 🦁. The most adorable little kid has grown into a 12 year old!!!! 🐣🦅. I love you and I like you. Massively. 💛 mom."

Blair opened up about her son's involvement amid her battle with multiple sclerosis in her documentary Introducing, Selma Blair, which premiered last October. A scene from the documentary showed Arthur shaving his mom's head prior to her life-altering stem cell transplant in 2019.

"It was to have him be a part of it, help him be in control of maybe like a first image of Mom looking different," Blair told Entertainment Tonight of letting Arthur perform the haircut. "That was pretty easy and a nice moment, and it makes me feel better knowing Arthur has a say — not a say, really, but is included."

Blair also noted that Arthur has already forgotten some of the moments featured in the documentary. "There is so much I realize he was really young he didn't remember," she added at the time.
