“Selling Sunset”'s Bre Tiesi Explains the State of Her Relationship with Nick Cannon: 'I Do What I Want to Do'

The reality star opened up during 'Selling Sunset' season 7 about Cannon, who is the father of her son Legendary

If people hold opinions about Nick Cannon’s relationships, they simply don’t matter to Bre Tiesi.

The reality star, 32, opened up to several of her Selling Sunset castmates over dinner during the seventh season’s first episode. Tiesi shares 16-month-old son Legendary with the former Wild N' Out host.

“I love Nick. I’m happy with my relationship, however that is, and like, if I date, I date,” she explained.

When Emma Hernan asked whether Nick would mind if she dated other people, Tiesi responded simply, “I don’t know. Maybe.”

Her response dumbfounded Chrishell Stause.

“Wait. You’ve got to be kidding me. That’s not fair,” Stause said.

“I mean, I do what I want to do, but I still would never disrespect Nick. I just wouldn’t,’ Tiesi continued. “And even his situations and stuff, I’ve always been nothing but respectful of that. I know people don’t get it, and I don’t care that people don’t get it.”

“It’s kind of like a new age power position,” Stause added, which Tiesi agreed with. “You don’t need anything from anyone. Your child is obviously well taken care of. You’re not looking for, you know, any kind of hole to be filled. You’re fulfilling yourself.”

“Well, maybe we could tell Chelsea that,” Tiesi quipped, referring to her feud with Chelsea Lazkani in season 6.

In one episode last season, Lazkani shared her thoughts on Tiesi's family situation: "I find Nick Cannon and Bre's relationship rather off-putting. Ultimately the way I live my life is very different to her as a Christian, so I don't know if we will ever be super, super close friends."

Lazkani also referred to Cannon as a "master manipulator" and claimed "creating multiple broken homes is disgusting." Later in the sixth season over a group dinner, she told Tiesi to her face that she thinks it's "unfair" for kids to be born into a situation where their father isn't fully present. Tiesi, in response, shot back that she didn’t have to “succumb to your acceptance of my relationship.”

Legendary is Cannon's eighth of the former Wild N' Out host's 12 children. Cannon's ninth baby — daughter Onyx Ice, 13 months, whom he shares with LaNisha Cole — was born just three months after Tiesi welcomed Legendary.

In addition to Legendary and Onyx, Cannon is also dad to twins Monroe and Moroccan, 12, with ex Mariah Carey, whom he was married to from 2008 to 2016. He is also a father to sons Golden Sagon, 6, daughter Powerful Queen, 2, and Rise Messiah, 13 months, with Brittany Bell.

Cannon shares twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 2, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin, 11 months, with Abby De La Rosa, as well. He is also dad to two children with Alyssa Scott: daughter Halo Marie, 10 months and son Zen, who died at 5 months old in December 2021.

Tiesi has previously addressed misconceptions on Selling Sunset about her relationship with Cannon, disclosing that she takes care of herself financially. “If my son needs something, or we do, I ask; that's all I have to do. I know he's a good dad, and Nick is not my sugar daddy. Nick is not the reason I'm where I'm at."
