Selena Quintanilla’s father, Abraham Quintanilla, is not happy with Oxygen’s upcoming docuseries. According to TMZ, Abraham and the Quintanilla family are outraged by Oxygen’s Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them series. He claims that they had nothing to do with the project.

Mr. Quintanilla also asserted that he and his family don’t want to be associated with the series or his daughter’s killer, Yolanda Saldivar. Abraham alleged that anything she says regarding “new details” is wholly fabricated, and the public knows it. However, the outlet reported that Mr. Quintanilla was curious about what new information Saldivar thinks she has to share.

A trailer for Oxygen’s Selena & Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them was released on Sunday (Feb. 4). The network’s True Crime series follows Yolanda Saldivar and alleged “new” details surrounding Selena’s death. A trailer for the series doesn’t show new information that hasn’t been covered legally. However, Yolanda and the Saldivar family insist that there are secrets surrounding Selena’s untimely death and that “people deserve to know the truth.”

The killer also expressed that the shooting wasn’t a “simple murder.” “My family gathered the evidence and showed different versions of what was going on,” Salvidar said in the teaser footage. “I knew her secrets, and I think people deserve to know the truth.”

Oxygen’s new docuseries plans to get to the heart of the “secrets between the two women.” The network claimed that the family provides information regarding the tragedy that has never been revealed.

“Yolanda Saldivar is speaking out from the Texas prison where she’s been incarcerated for nearly 30 years,” an official press release reads. “In a series of wide-ranging interviews from prison, Saldivar details her working relationship and friendship with Selena, and she’s not alone. For the first time, members of Yolanda’s family discuss the two women and share never-before-revealed documents and recordings in an effort to show there was more to the tragedy than the public knows.”

Selena and Yolanda: The Secrets Between Them is scheduled to premiere on Saturday (Feb. 17) at 8 PM EST. A second episode will air on Sunday (Feb. 18) at 7 PM EST on Oxygen True Crime.
