Selena Gomez Says Relationship with Benny Blanco Is ‘The Safest That I Feel’

Selena Gomez is in a "lovely" place with boyfriend Benny Blanco!

The Only Murders in the Building actress, 31, stopped by New Music Daily on Apple Music 1 and chatted with host Zane Lowe about her new single “Love On” on Thursday.

While discussing her latest release, Gomez also opened up on how her relationship with Blanco, 35, makes her feel safe.

“Without getting into too much detail, I think it's just really important to meet someone that respects you,” the artist explained. “And I think it's really nice to also lean on someone who understands the world that I live in. But I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel and it's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome.”

She and the record producer to the stars confirmed their relationship in December 2023, though they’ve known each other much longer.

In 2019, they collaborated on the song “I Can’t Get Enough,” which also features Tainy and J Balvin.

Speaking to Lowe, 50, about how she chooses who to work with, Gomez admitted that she doesn’t “feel very safe in a lot of rooms.”

“But I find that when I work with new people, it's actually really fun to connect on what they're walking through in life,” she said.

“And it's like, oh, working with some great songwriters who know friends of friends and things like that. But I think it's also important that I stay with my core group because they're the people that can crack the code with me the best. They're the ones that can really help me explain what I want to say.”

Gomez shared a clip of her new music video for “Love On” on her social media, as well as photos from the set of the video shoot.

“Omg !!!!” Blanco wrote in the comment section of her Instagram carousel, showing support for his girlfriend’s new project — and fashion-forward Parisian looks.

Earlier in the interview, the Disney alum told Lowe that she spent two months living in the French city and called it “one of the most romantic” places.

She and Blanco also celebrated a bit of romance themselves this past Valentine’s Day.

“🤍 I love you,” Gomez wrote on a photo of her and her boyfriend that she shared to her Instagram Story last week.

He shared a sweet tribute as well, posting a picture of the “Wolves” singer smiling as she sat in the backseat of a car while wearing a furry coat with a white scarf wrapped around her head.

“💜 my valentine,” Blanco wrote.

In January, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE Gomez was "super happy and present" since she’s started dating Blanco.

"She seems to be really feeling herself at the moment," the insider said. "Maybe that's Benny or maybe that's just where she's at personally and professionally."
