Gomez and more Hollywood stars have nature's wind machine to thank you for their dramatic red carpet moments on Sunday
Selena Gomez didn't need a wind machine to create her real-life Marilyn Monroe moment on Sunday's 2024 Golden Globes red carpet — she had nature on her side.
Gomez, who was nominated for best performance by a female actor in a television series, comedy or musical, for her role of Mabel Mora in Only Murders in the Building, walked the red carpet in a gorgeous red dress from Giorgio Armani.
The design was impressive all on its own thanks to its asymmetrical hemline and black accents including cutouts down the front that were accented with rosettes, along with a black lining that peeked out underneath the skirt, but the uncharacteristically windy weather in Los Angeles added a whole new level of drama to the multi-hyphenate's vibrant look.

During her walk down the red carpet, Gomez stopped to pose for photos at which point one photographer can be heard telling her to "work the wind" in a video shared by Vogue on Instagram. The "Single Soon" singer smiled as the wind caught her hemline leading to her embracing her Marilyn moment as her dress billowed up around her knees as she demurely attempted to hold it in place.

Gomez wasn't the only Hollywood star who had a windswept moment at the Globes. From Heidi Klum to Jennifer Aniston, the windy weather worked its magic on several celebs who wore particularly flowy looks to the ceremony.
Florence Pugh
Pugh, who was nominated for her role in five-time Golden Globe-winner Oppenheimer, arrived at the Golden Globes in a show-stopping sheer, red Valentino gown with floral accents dotted throughout. Add in her impressive platinum faux hawk, and the A Good Person actress was already looking full glam, then the wind came along to add a little extra drama.
In one photo from the evening, Pugh kept her expression neutral as the wind caught the train of her Valentino gown creating the illusion that she was walking toward a wind machine as she walked down the red carpet.

Aminah Nieves
1923 breakout star Nieves had a standout moment on the red carpet, as well. The up-and-coming actress wore a striped lavender gown with a long, gossamer train that L.A.'s weather conditions made all the more impressive as the breeze caught the sheer fabric and made it fan out to her side as she stopped for pics.
Jennifer Aniston
As stunning as Aniston's black Dolce & Gabbana dress was, all eyes were on her new, shorter hairstyle which bears a striking resemblance to her famed Rachel 'do from Friends. Even the breezy weather appeared to be a fan of her updated throwback look as the wind left The Morning Show star's fresh hairstyle artfully tousled on the red carpet.
Heidi Klum
Klum channeled her model days as she turned the red carpet into her own personal runway in her strapless red Sophie Couture gown which featured a stunning split and a voluminous skirt. The America's Got Talent judge made the wind work for her as it caught both her crimson skirt and her wavy blonde hair.
The fashionista stopped on the red carpet to talk to PEOPLE about her look. "I love the color and the poof," she said. "I love being blonde and wearing red. It fit me immediately and I said, 'that’s the one.' ”
Hunter Schafer
Schafer's gorgeous light pink gown was made for a blustery red carpet. Her dress featured flowing silky accents that created an ethereal look as the wind caught the material prompting it to cascade around her.
Keri Russell
Long trains weren't the only looks that the windy conditions affected on Sunday. Russell, who was nominated for best actress in a drama series for her role in The Diplomat, wore a white flapper-esque style dress to the event which featured fringe from the waist down.

Those fringe accents were caught by wind making it look like the actress was caught in a perpetual mid-twirl in red carpet pics.
