Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco's romance is going strong.

About five months after confirming their relationship in December 2023, a source tells PEOPLE Gomez is feeling confident in her and the music producer's bond despite having been on opposite sides of the country as of late.

"They are so in love," says the insider. "It’s a very serious relationship, and they’re making long distance work while she’s in New York for work commitments."

Gomez, 31, recently attended a launch event for Rare Beauty's new Soft Pinch Luminous Powder Blush on April 6 in New York City, where her hit Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building, is currently in production on its fourth season.

"Benny makes her feel special and they try to see each other as much as possible," the source adds. "She really does feel like it’s the best she’s ever been treated by a guy, and she’s had a certain glow since they started dating."

Last month, Gomez took to Instagram with a celebratory post about Blanco's 36th birthday, sharing several sweet photos and videos of them together.

"Happy birthday baby! Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me," she wrote on March 8. "I love you @itsbennyblanco."

Blanco is set to release his cookbook, Open Wide: A Cookbook for Friends, later this month, and the "Eastside" musician recently revealed to TalkShopLive that he and Gomez — who has her own cooking show Selena + Chef — make meals together "every day."

"She's a huge steak fan. So anything that has steak in it," he said, later adding that his girlfriend also loves pasta and "always asks for these little, perfect fried potatoes."

March also marked the couple's first virtual date. Blanco sent Gomez a pink card featuring a flower drawing and wrote, "Happy first virtual date!" She shared a photo of the note to her Instagram Stories at the time with the caption, "#Long distance relationship vibes."
