Selena Gomez Is a Dream in This Ribbed Sweater Skirt Suit

Selena Gomez made her spectacular arrival at the 77th Cannes Film Festival this morning, and her debut ensemble perfectly embodied the elegance of the French Riviera.

It was a monochromatic icy-white fit, the highlight of which was a sophisticated skirt suit from Self-Portrait. The set was crafted from a ribbed sweaterlike material, with vertical eyelet stripes running down both the top and skirt. The cropped cardigan top had a perfect peplum detail at the hem and matching flared sleeves. At the center, it was dotted with artful gold cluster buttons embellished with white crystals. Meanwhile, the flirty miniskirt flared to the sides with the breeze.

Styled by Erin Walsh, Gomez paired the tennis-core set with glossy slingback Mary Janes in cream and black, by Roger Vivier, plus a white and beige handbag with a woven zigzag design and gold hardware.

Gomez continued the white-and-gold color scheme with some oval white-frame sunglasses, large gold plate earrings, a golden hair clip, and several other tiny gold and diamond earrings and rings. Her hair was slicked back into a neat bun, and she wore rosy makeup and a nude manicure.

Gomez is currently filming season four of her mystery-comedy series Only Murders in the Building, in which she stars in alongside Steve Martin and Martin Short. She is also working on a brand new album—her first since the release of her Spanish album Revelación in 2021.

“I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting [if asked to pick between it and music],” she said on the SmartLess podcast earlier this year. When the hosts pointed out that she doesn’t need to pick and can do both, she replied, “You’re right, but I am going to want to chill, because I’m tired.”
