Selena Gomez Brings the Ladylike Peplum Cardigan to Cannes

Selena Gomez for president? The triple threat touched down in Cannes on May 17 looking every bit the put-together diplomat in a sophisticated all-white look. It’s giving Princess Diana. It’s giving Boss Babe.

The singer, actor, and Rare Beauty founder was photographed in a two-piece knit set consisting of a cardigan and skirt. Adding to the ladylike silhouette of the ensemble was the ruffled peplum hem and matching ruffled cuffs. Gomez leaned into the ladies-who-lunch look with classic accessories—including her top-handle box bag, white Jackie O–esque sunglasses, and slingback white kitten heels with contrasting black straps.

The 31-year-old wore her hair in a slicked-back bun, which she styled with a single gold barrette that echoed her gold earrings.

Gomez has been glowing as of late, and that might have to do with her boyfriend of nearly a year, music producer Benny Blanco, who has been singing her praises all over Tinsel Town. Earlier this week Blanco confessed that he couldn’t wait to have children with the Only Murders in the Building actor.

“It’s always a topic of conversation to me every day,” Blanco told Howard Stern in an interview on May 14. “That’s my next goal, to check the box. I have a ton of god-kids; I’ve got a ton of nephews. I love being around kids.”

That said, the 36-year-old added that they’re taking things “one day at a time.”

“I just know that when I look at her, I just say, ‘I don’t know a world where it could be better than this.’ That’s what I always say to her,” he said.

So, no wedding bells quite yet—but they’re not out of the question. For now, Selena Gomez’s all-white look is strictly business.
