Selena Gomez Addressed a Wild Dating Rumor Involving JFK's Grandson

Take those tin foil hats off, folks.

In what may be the most head-scratching rumor you read today, Selena Gomez addressed the noise that she once dated John F. Kennedy's grandson, Jack Schlossberg. Initially, X users posited that the two had a brief romance between 2020 and 2021, but Gomez was quick to shut down the rumor before conspiracy theories could start to swirl. Jack is the son of JFK and Jacqueline Kennedy's daughter, Caroline Kennedy, and her husband, Edwin Schlossberg.

"Never met this human," Gomez commented on a post shared by a fan Instagram account. "Sorry."

E! News confirmed that they've never had any interaction other than a social media post that Jack posted when Gomez released a line of voting merch with retailer Dover Street Market.

"Whatever it costs!! I have to have it!!" Jack wrote in an Instagram Story at the time, tagging Gomez in photos of a sweatshirt and subsequent photos of himself wearing a sweatshirt from the drop.

While she hasn't dated people adjacent to the world of politics before, Gomez has had other high-profile relationships. Fans will remember that she was previously linked to Justin Bieber and The Weeknd (real name: Abel Makkonen Tesfaye). Currently, the Only Murders in the Building actress is dating music producer Benny Blanco.

"It's been really lovely and I've only grown through it, so it's awesome," Selena told Apple Music's Zane Lowe of the relationship back in February. "I'd have to say overall it's the safest that I feel."

And for anyone thinking that Gomez wanted to keep any Camelot-adjacent romance under wraps, she's been open about her relationships. "He is my absolute everything in my heart," Gomez wrote when she confirmed that she and Blanco were an item in December 2023. "He's still better than anyone I've ever been with."

Since going public with Blanco, he's made multiple appearances on her Instagram and her friends and family have even commented, saying that they're great together.

"Selena trusts him more than any other past romantic partner in her life," a close friend revealed to Entertainment Tonight. "They are very respectful of one another and their relationship is growing in positive ways." The friend also noted that "they bring the best out of each other and make an effort to be communicative, honest, and supportive of each other."
