See the New 'Hunger Games' Living Portraits
As befitting Quarter Quell victors, Johanna Mason and Peeta Mellark are the latest subjects to be honored with “Capitol Citizen Living Portraits.” It’s also a clever way of showing off the latest costume designs from the latest Hunger Games movie — Mockingjay – Part 1, starring Jennifer Lawrence, opens in theaters Nov. 21. Wearing a serene look, Johanna (Jena Malone) wears a flowing frock with a “super modern and sculptural iridescent white bodice.” Without spoiling it for those who haven’t read the book, the ever-cunning Johanna will endure a spell of absolute agony in the next installment of the movie — but, hey, she’s looking great while doing it!
Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) is also fitted out in head-to-toe white. Both Games characters wear their frosty-colored garb, as the film’s Capitol Tumblr says, “to commemorate President Snow’s ‘One Panem’ initiative” — and both are unwilling participants. We’ll see when Mockingjay – Part 1 opens, if they manage to break free from these fashionable shackles!
