Wolfgang Van Halen may have just gotten married, but he'll never stop being mama's boy!

Throughout his life, Valerie Bertinelli has continuously celebrated her Grammy-nominated son, whom she shares with her late ex-husband, Eddie Van Halen. In 2021, Wolfie told PEOPLE that he and his now-wife Andraia Allsop, spend nearly every day at Bertinelli's house.

Bertinelli and Van Halen spoke to PEOPLE about their tight bond in 2021, opening up about their similarities and love for each other. According to the 32-year-old musician, he enjoyed a "normal" childhood thanks to his mom's sensible parenting.

"My mom did a really good job at grounding me in my childhood," Van Halen explained. "It felt completely normal. It wasn't lavish or insane. I think she did a really good job of balancing that fame aspect of both of my parents' lives and gave me a really great, normal childhood."

Bertinelli, who goes by the name "@wolfiesmom" on Twitter and Instagram, constantly shares her love for her son online. In September, the One Day at a Time alumna posted a precious poolside throwback with Van Halen to remind her followers about the release of his band's sophomore album.

"Hi 👋🏻🥰," she captioned the photo of her toddler-aged son waving at the camera. "Fyi 😊 this little cutie‘s second album, Mammoth II, is available to buy and stream wherever you love to buy and stream your music 🎶 💿 check it out! 🩵."

'Proud Mama'

Even though her son has been rocking big stages since age 15, when he joined his dad's band Van Halen, Bertinelli still gets excited about his gigs. In 2021, she shared another throwback to celebrate his band Mammoth WVH's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! "😍 I’m such a proud mama! 🥰 ," she wrote on Instagram.

Detailing their relationship to PEOPLE in 2021, the Kids Baking Championship co-host expanded on her maternal love and pride.

"Besides the fact that he is ridiculously talented, I'm most proud of his kindness and thoughtfulness," Bertinelli said. "I think we both like to find humor in the absurd. This world is a seriously crazy place and it's easier to get through it by finding it funny and absurd. Sometimes laughing is better than crying."

Van Halen shared his mom's sentiment about their compatible humor saying, "I think a lot of people don't understand how sarcastic our relationship is," the musician told PEOPLE.

"One time, she burnt onion rings. And it's like, she has a cooking show, so I just made fun of her for it. I asked her if I could post it. We get in GIF battles all the time on Twitter. Sarcasm is a language, And that's how we communicate!"

'I'll Love You Forever'

Bertinelli posted an Instagram tribute to her son in honor of National Sons Day in 2021. She shared a black-and-white snapshot of the duo with a nostalgic quote from the children's book Love You Forever by Robert Munsch.

"I’ll love you forever, I’ll like you for always," read her caption. "As long as I’m living
my baby you’ll be."
