Filming is finally underway on the hit show's climactic conclusion.

It's officially the beginning of the end.

Following the two Hollywood strikes that ended up delaying development and filming on various projects across the industry, Stranger Things is finally back in production on the fifth and final season.

Netflix released a first look behind the scenes of the final episodes, featuring the returning cast assembled. Series creators Matt and Ross Duffer pose in a room filled with their stars, including Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Sadie Sink, Charlie Heaton, Natalia Dyer, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, David Harbour, Winona Ryder, Brett Gelman, and Priah Ferguson.

Also spotted are Vecna himself, Jamie Campbell Bower; Cara Buono, who plays Karen Wheeler; Amybeth McNulty, who plays Robin's crush Vickie; and newcomer to the cast, Terminator star Linda Hamilton.

Plans for the final season were put on hold back in May when the writers of the WGA went on strike for fair wages and work protections. The scribes hit the ground running once the strike lifted, but despite everyone being back in action, a 2024 premiere date feels unlikely.

The Duffers and the actors have been teasing what's to come in the fifth installment of the hit show. However, it seems the biggest clues lie in Stranger Things: The First Shadow, the stage production now playing in London's West End. "The First Shadow definitely gives fans some not-so-subtle teases and hints as to where certain storylines are heading in season 5," the Duffers previously told EW in a joint email statement. "It touches on several themes and ideas that we will continue to explore in the show."
