SEE IT: Stevie Wonder and Elton John reunite for nostalgic music video for ‘Finish Line’ duet

A reunion for the ages has taken shape with a long-awaited duet among pop music royalty.

Anew music video for the Stevie Wonder and Elton John collaboration “Finish Line” was released this week.

Wonder is actually singing on the mid-tempo ballad, which is featured on the British vocal powerhouse’s latest opus “The Lockdown Sessions.” Most of the 25-time Grammy-winning musical genius’ recent collaborations have been only via harmonica — the wind instrument that made him a household name in the 1960s.

Always a delight to many, the Andrew Watt-produced, gospel inflected track also has Wonder’s famous harmonica laced throughout. Both musicians play piano on the song.

For the Zack Sekuler-directed clip, a montage of video footage and images through the decades depict pivotal moments of everyday life, including the pandemic.

Images — past and present — of the two Rock & Roll Hall of Famers are peppered throughout, showcasing the long-running friendship and companionship they share.

Wonder and John have been pals for five decades and previously collaborated on the 1985 HIV/AIDS charity single “That’s What Friends Are For,” along with Dionne Warwick and Gladys Knight.

Wonder played harmonica on one of John’s biggest hits, 1983′s “I Guess That’s Why They Call It the Blues.

“Go On and On,” John’s duet with Gladys Knight, was written and produced by the Motown legend.

The 32nd studio album by John, “The Lockdown Sessions” hit No.1 in the U.K. when released last fall. Mostly recorded during the COVID pandemic (some tracks via Zoom), the 16-track set features collaborations with Stevie Nicks, Lil Nas X, Miley Cyrus, Brandi Carlile, Dua Lipa, Charlie Puth, Jimmie Allen and Nicki Minaj.
