See Property Brothers’ Drew Scott’s Magical, Dr. Seuss-Themed Engagement Cake

Drew Scott is officially off the market, and he’s got a sweet treat to show for it.

The HGTV star is proving he isn’t just handy with home renovations, he’s also got a vision when it comes to confections. Scott worked with friend Lisa Sanguedolce of Le Dolci Bake Shop in Toronto to custom design a four-tier, Dr. Seuss-themed cake to celebrate his engagement to longtime girlfriend Linda Phan.

The elaborate cake was based on Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, Phan’s favorite book. “ looked identical to the mountain on the book cover and the character standing atop the cake had the ring hanging from his finger,” Scott tells PEOPLE.

Made with the bakery’s signature Belgian chocolate flavor, the cake was layered with salted caramel Swiss meringue and coated with fondant and edible ink to match the color scheme from the beloved children’s book.

Sadly, the couple didn’t get in on the sweet action during their engagement party, but they made up for it later. “We didn’t get to eat the cake in the excitement of the moment, but we certainly took it home and actually ate it !,” Scott says.
