The Prince of Wales met a baby named Luca during his latest royal outing
Prince William remembers the baby days of being a parent well!
On April 30, the Prince of Wales, 41, met Andrea Newton and her 6-month-old grandson Luca while hopping between royal engagements, reportedly making "a beeline" to speak to the pair, according to Rebecca English of the Daily Mail.
As seen in a video that the royal reporter shared on X, Prince William asked the baby’s age and said, "Aww," when Newton replied Lucas was 6 months. The royal dad continued to chat with the well-wisher as she held Luca and a Union Jack flag and mentioned, "I hope he sleeps well later," with a gentle touch to the baby’s arm before posing for a photo.
Prince William and Kate Middleton have both spoken about sleepless nights when their children —Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 6 — were babies, and the Prince of Wales was quoted as saying that Prince George "never slept," according to Hello! magazine.

The Daily Mail previously reported that the future King Charles said something similar in 2015 during a reception at Clarence House when Princess Charlotte was a newborn.
"We were talking about grandchildren. He was saying Princess Charlotte does sleep through the night, and it was much easier on mum than Prince George," guest Geoff Bradley said at the tea party hosted for pilots and crew who served in World War II.
Kate Middleton, who is currently staying out of the public eye as she undergoes cancer treatment, is also known for connecting with children during royal engagements.
During her solo royal tour in Denmark in February 2022, Princess Kate met with parents and their babies during a visit to the University of Copenhagen. "It makes me very broody," the royal shared. "William always worries about me meeting under 1-year-olds. I come home saying, 'Let's have another one.' "
When the couple stepped out together a few months later to a school where students were learning about empathy by observing an infant — A.K.A. their "tiny teacher," Saul — Prince William joked, "Can you get my wife out of here before she gets broody?"

The photo showed Prince Louis smiling and lying in the grass in his go-to uniform — shorts and a button-down— and PEOPLE understands it was taken recently by Princess Kate in Windsor.
PEOPLE understands that the Prince and Princess of Wales decided to release the image as a way of acknowledging well-wishers who reached out to wish their son a happy birthday.
